生地・縫製・プリント・加工、すべてにこだわり抜いたジャパンメイドのTシャツが完成しました。
素材には、インド綿で編み立てた目面の美しい天竺を使用。通常のコットンよりも油分を多く含むため、しっとりとした肌触りが特徴です。ヴィンテージのバンドTをイメージし、厚すぎず薄すぎない絶妙な肉感で仕上げています。
袖口と裾の縫製には、ヴィンテージTシャツのディテールとして知られる"ブラインドステッチ"を採用。シンプルながら味わいのある表情を生み出しています。
フロントにはブランドを象徴する盆栽モチーフを、ウォッシュアウトという特殊技法でプリント。一度プリントしたのち、バイオウォッシュでインク表面を洗い落とし、さらにタンブラー加工で毛羽立たせることで、古着の染み込みプリントのように生地へ自然に馴染ませています。
そしてバックには「BONSAI 凡才」の文字をプリント。そこには「凡人の才能は天才にも勝る」というメッセージを込めました。凡人が持つ粘り強さ、共感性、そして継続的な努力こそが天才を超え成果を生む。フォトグラファー YASUSHI MURATA 氏からの強い思いが反映されたデザインです。

BONSAI T-Shirt

Crafted in Japan with uncompromising attention to fabric, sewing, printing, and finishing, this T-shirt embodies true craftsmanship.
The fabric is a fine jersey knit made from Indian cotton. Compared to ordinary cotton, it contains more natural oils, giving it a uniquely smooth and soft hand feel. Inspired by vintage band tees, the fabric weight is perfectly balanced—neither too heavy nor too light.
For the hem and sleeves, we used blind stitch hemming, a detail often found on vintage T-shirts, which creates a subtle yet refined finish.
On the front, the brand’s signature BONSAI graphic is printed using a special wash-out technique. The print is first applied, then partially washed away with bio-wash, and finally tumbled to raise the fibers. This process gives the print a naturally aged, “lived-in” look that blends beautifully with the fabric, just like vintage pieces.
The back print features the phrase “BONSAI 凡才”, which translates to “Ordinary talent can surpass genius.”
It conveys photographer YASUSHI MURATA’s message: persistence, empathy, and continuous effort—qualities of the so-called “ordinary person”—can ultimately triumph over innate genius.
A T-shirt that goes beyond fashion, carrying both craftsmanship and philosophy in every stitch.
