生地・縫製・プリント・加工、すべてにこだわり抜いたジャパンメイドのTシャツが完成しました。
素材には、インド綿で編み立てた目面の美しい天竺を使用。通常のコットンよりも油分を多く含むため、しっとりとした肌触りが特徴です。ヴィンテージのバンドTをイメージし、厚すぎず薄すぎない絶妙な肉感で仕上げています。
さらに、ビンテージTシャツ特有のフェードブラックを再現するため、縫製後にボディ全体を顔料染め。プリントにはシルクスクリーンのハーフラバーを用い、仕上げにワンウォッシュとタンブラー乾燥を加えることで、シーム部分に自然なアタリを演出しました。
顔料染めならではのエイジングを楽しめるのも魅力のひとつ。着込むほどに色合いが深まり、自分だけの一枚へと育っていきます。
そしてバックには「BONSAI 凡才」の文字をプリント。そこには「凡人の才能は天才にも勝る」というメッセージを込めました。凡人が持つ粘り強さ、共感性、そして継続的な努力こそが天才を超え成果を生む。フォトグラファー YASUSHI MURATA 氏からの強い思いが反映されたデザインです。

Crafted with uncompromising attention to fabric, sewing, printing, and finishing—this Japan-made T-shirt represents the finest in craftsmanship.
The fabric is a premium jersey knitted from Indian cotton. Compared to regular cotton, it contains more natural oils, giving it a smooth, slightly moist hand feel. Inspired by vintage band tees, the fabric weight strikes the perfect balance—not too heavy, not too light.
For the hem and sleeve openings, we used the “blind stitch” detail, a construction technique often found on vintage T-shirts. This creates a subtle yet distinctive texture that sets it apart.
To reproduce the faded black look of well-worn vintage tees, the entire garment is pigment-dyed after sewing. The front graphic is silk-screened with a half-rubber print, then garment-washed and tumble-dried, adding natural wear marks along the seams and a broken-in look from day one.
One of the key charms of pigment dye is how it ages beautifully over time. The more you wear it, the deeper the character becomes, evolving into a one-of-a-kind piece.
On the back, bold lettering spells out “BONSAI 凡才.” This phrase conveys the idea that the talent of the ordinary can surpass that of the extraordinary. Persistence, empathy, and steady effort—these strengths of everyday people can outshine raw genius. It’s a message deeply rooted in the vision of photographer YASUSHI MURATA.
